A Mentor in Scarlet

Artist's Note

I drew this portrait of my lecturer to capture a side of academic life people don't often see: warmth, authenticity and a laugh that's genuinely infectious. Ballpoint pen doesn't forgive mistakes, so balancing the soft curves of her smile against the sharp diagonal lines of her blazer took a lot of focus. This piece isn't just about pen technique. It's my way of saying thanks to an educator who's left a real impact.
